Jolien D’Hoore (Mitchelton-Scott) a enlevé aujourd’hui au sprint la 1ère étape de l’OVO Energy Women’s Tour (2.WWT) disputée entre Framlingham et Southwold (130 km). La Belge a devancé ainsi l’Italienne Marta Bastianelli (Alé Cipollini), l’Américaine Coryn Rivera (Team Sunweb), la Romagnole Giorgia Bronzini (Cylance Pro Cycling), la Danoise Amalie Dideriksen (Boels-Dolmans), la Néerlandaise Marianne Vos (WaowDeals Pro Cycling) et Roxane Fournier (FDJ-Nouvelle Aquitaine-Futuroscope)

Comme un clin d’oeil, la Gantoise avait remporté la dernière étape de l’édition 2017 courue dans les artères de Londres. Il s’agit de plus de la course de reprise de Jolien D’Hoore suite à sa blessure à la clavicule subie lors de la Madison de Dudenhofen. La championne de Belgique s’était adjugée en mars les Driedaagse Brugge – De Panne.

Demain, 2ème étape entre Rushden et Daventry (145 km).
