Un détour en Emilie-Romagne aujourd’hui sur ce Giro Rosa avec 109 km proposés autour de Piacenza (Plaisance en français). Une étape moins plate que la veille en Lombardie avec notamment à mi-parcours la colline de Romola. La Sunweb, qui se refile le maillot rose depuis trois jours, pouvait-elle être inquiétée lors d’une journée une nouvelle fois promise aux sprinteuses et parmi elles la double championne du Monde Giorgia Bronzini originaire de Piacenza ?

Kseniia Dobrynina (Servetto-Stradalli-Alu Recycling) était la première attaquante du jour mais la Russe rentrait rapidement dans les rangs. Elena Franchi (Conceria Zabri-Fanini-Guerciotti), une autre Régionale de l’étape, l’imitait un peu plus loin. Franchi s’offrait le seul Sprint Bonifications de ce lundi, à Rivergaro (km 48), mais était reprise dès les premières rampes de la Romola (3,4 km à 6,5%). Elisa Longo Borghini (Wiggle-High5) passait en tête au sommet (km 53) devant Amanda Spratt (Mitchelton-Scott), Canuel, Moolman et Van Vleuten. Le peloton s’en retrouvait désormais réduit à une soixantaine d’unités. Le second groupe rentrait néanmoins vers Ponte dell’Olio. Tout restait à faire.

Olena Pavlukhina (BTC City Ljubljana) s’essayait désormais. La championne d’Azerbaïdjan obtenait à peine la minute aux 25 km, insuffisant pour pouvoir espérer. Pavlukhina était revue à 9 km de l’arrivée. Une nouvelle chute s’opérait alors à l’instar de la veille. Avec moins de conséquences cependant, étant placée plus loin de la ligne. Trois étapes en ligne et donc trois sprints massifs. Et comme hier à Corbetta, Jolien D’Hoore (Mitchelton-Scott) se montrait la plus rapide devançant Marta Bastianelli (Alé Cipollini), Lotta Lepisto (Cervélo-Bigla) et Barbara Guarischi (Team Virtu Cycling). Roxane Fournier (FDJ-Nouvelle Aquitaine-Futuroscope) se classait 6ème juste derrière le maillot rose Leah Kirchmann.

Demain, 5ème étape autour d’Omegna (117 km).
